2014 IBJJF Pan Championship

Last week, Adam 'Smitty' Baillargeon and Head Instructor Eric Marentette went to represent Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Tecumseh as part of the Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Association at the 2014 Pan Championships in Irvine California. The Pan Championships is one of the largest jiu-jitsu tournaments in the world and attract some of the best competitors from all over the globe.

Early in the week Adam 'Smitty' Baillargeon fought in the Adult Purple Belt division and finished the tournament with both a win and a loss.

Our Head Instructor, Eric Marentette, competed in the Master's Brown Belt division and finished an impressive third place, coming home with a bronze medal. Later on the same day, he also competed in the Absolute division for Brown Belt, winning in the first round but losing out to the ultimate Silver Medalist.

It was a great experience and honour competing and representing both our academy and the Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Association.
